Kicking off 2010!
I had the chance to catch a bunch of great movies lately, and I was going to comment on my movie going experience but I will get into that at another time. Instead, I will kick off 2010 with a post with a little more substance.
Although still film related, let me invite you to rent, borrow or buy a documentary called The Cove. It is quite an eye opening and somber experience about an annual dolphin slaughter at a small town in Japan.
If you care about animals, the environment or just doing the right thing, then you absolutely need to see this film. So have a look and if it moves you do something, then do. As the film states at the end, this slaughter will continue “Unless We Stop It.”

That’s all for my first public service announcement for this year.
By the way here are some other film recommendations from me, some in theatres and a few in your video store or movie channel.
Running the Sahara – All you athletes will love this one.
One Week – A wonderfully acted flick, full of Canadian flavour.
Up In The Air – Went in expecting to dislike it, came out with a totally opposite feeling.
Avatar – See it in 3D or you are missing out. A memorable movie going experience.
20 lb Challenge – I’m down a few from last week. Thankfully, not too much holiday damage. Now it is time to start getting serious.
Have a great week
Roger
